Ibiza's climate is hot, dry and windy. A dry garden embraces that natural Mediterranean environment instead of fighting it: resilient plants that grow more beautiful every year and attract birds and bees.
We design drought-tolerant gardens that need little or no extra watering once established, and that cope with intense sun, wind, salt air, lack of rain and changing temperatures. The secret lies in three things: the right soil, the right plants and a few key design decisions that minimise water loss.

Plants That Bring Beauty and Character
With rain becoming scarcer, hardy plants with low water needs are the natural choice for Ibiza. Once their roots are established, they stay green and healthy through long dry periods.
We work with Mediterranean and climate-adapted plants such as rosemary, lavender, wild olive, carob, ornamental grasses, aloes, succulents and cacti. Together they create gardens full of texture and character, perfect for dry gardens, minimalist designs and modern Mediterranean landscapes - while helping to conserve the island's precious water.
Cacti and succulents also add personality to any outdoor or indoor space, as long as there is enough light indoors. Surrounding yourself with plants like these brings a calm, natural feel and contributes to a healthier environment.
HOW WE SAVE WATER
Techniques for a Water-Wise Garden
Water deeply, only at the start
In the first season we water thoroughly about once a week, then let the soil dry out. Deep, occasional watering pushes the roots down, while a daily sprinkle keeps them near the surface.
Group plants by water needs
Shrubs go in the sunniest, best-drained spots, shade plants in cooler corners and thirstier plants in their own zone. A garden zoned this way is easier to maintain and copes far better with a heatwave.
Mulch generously
A layer of 8 to 10 cm of gravel, stone or wood-chip mulch cuts evaporation, keeps the soil and roots much cooler and suppresses weeds, so the plants keep more water for themselves.
Make sure water can drain
Even in a dry garden, water must drain away after rain, or roots will rot. Good drainage is one of the best investments in Mediterranean soil, especially in heavy, clay-rich ground.
Drip irrigation where needed
Underground drip lines bring water straight to the roots - the industry standard for Spanish gardens. With a smart timer, watering only before sunrise or after sunset, they save even more.
Catch the rain
Rain in Ibiza is rare but often heavy. Cisterns or tanks that collect runoff from your roof store that water, so you can use it in the garden during the long, dry summer months.
