Gardens of Ibiza Project

Can Terra Ibiza Garden and Foodforest

Take inspiration from Can Terra Ibiza’s garden style and learn how to recreate the Mediterranean feel with planting ideas, textures, and simple layout tips.

Garden of Ibiza Designer & Co Founder

Alberto

Growing up on Ibiza, Alberto developed a deep understanding of the island's landscapes long before becoming a garden designer. Years of hands-on experience with Mediterranean plants, ecological gardening and regenerative land management have shaped a philosophy where every garden is designed to feel as though it naturally belongs to its surroundings.

His work combines native and climate-adapted planting with thoughtful composition, creating landscapes that are beautiful, resilient and alive throughout the seasons. From contemporary villas to productive food forests, Alberto designs gardens that celebrate Ibiza's unique character while supporting biodiversity, healthy soils and a more sustainable way of living.

arriving at

Can Terra Ibiza

Can Terra is a contemporary Ibiza home inspired by the timeless character of the island's traditional architecture. The landscape follows the same philosophy, combining clean lines with natural Mediterranean planting that feels as though it has always belonged there.

ROOTED IN REGENERATION

Mediterranean Garden of Can Terra

Can Terra reinterprets Ibiza's architectural heritage through a contemporary lens, creating a landscape that feels both refined and deeply connected to the island. Built around native and Mediterranean-adapted planting, the garden combines sculptural olive trees, aromatic herbs, flowering shrubs and soft grasses that thrive in Ibiza's dry climate.

A regenerative food forest forms the heart of the property, where fruit trees, edible plants and pollinator-friendly species grow together as a living ecosystem. Designed to enhance biodiversity, improve soil health and produce seasonal harvests, the landscape demonstrates how beauty, productivity and ecology can exist in perfect balance.

Foodforest Designers

Roberto & Albert

Can Terra's food forest was created through a collaboration between Gardens of Ibiza and Alberto / Roberto of the Asociación de Permacultura de las Islas Pitiusas (APIP). Combining decades of practical experience in Mediterranean ecology, permaculture and regenerative agriculture, they designed a landscape where productivity and biodiversity work together.

Rather than planting individual trees, the food forest was planned as a living ecosystem. Fruit trees, shrubs, herbs and groundcovers support one another, building healthy soils, attracting pollinators and producing abundant harvests while thriving naturally in Ibiza's climate.

Introducing

Can Terra Food Forest

Can Terra's food forest is a living ecosystem where fruit trees, herbs, edible perennials and native Mediterranean species grow together in harmony. Designed using regenerative principles, it produces seasonal harvests while improving soil health, supporting biodiversity and creating a resilient landscape that becomes more abundant each year.

FROM GARDEN TO BASKET

Seasonal Basket of vegs, herbs and fruits

We care for your edible garden throughout the seasons and harvest what’s ready on each visit - fresh herbs, seasonal vegetables, and fruit at peak flavour. Your basket is packed from your own garden and delivered to your home weekly or monthly, so you stay connected to what’s growing and enjoy the rhythm of the harvest.

Let’s grow something that lasts

Design a garden that’s good for you and for Ibiza. By working with us, you support the Permaculture Association of the Pityusic Islands and help grow the regenerative movement on the island.
