GROW YOUR OWN IN IBIZA

Vegetable & Kitchen Gardens in Ibiza

KITCHEN GARDENS

Designed to Blend Seamlessly with Nature

There is a special joy in growing your own fresh, organic produce. In the kitchen gardens we create, vegetables, fruits and aromatic herbs grow side by side - and they will make you want to spend more time in the kitchen.

A kitchen garden is not simply a place to grow food. It is a living ecosystem that brings you closer to the natural rhythms of the island. Herbs, vegetables, fruit and flowering plants grow together, each supporting the health of the whole. With raised beds, organic soil feeding and water-efficient techniques, the result is a beautiful, low-impact space that gives you nutritious food, supports biodiversity and reduces your environmental footprint.

OUR APPROACH

Wholesome for You, Low-Impact for the Environment

We approach every vegetable garden as a small-scale landscape, using the same principles as in our larger projects: soil regeneration, biodiversity and naturally closed cycles. Instead of monocultures or synthetic inputs, we work with companion planting, organic matter and natural pest management, so the garden becomes more resilient and productive every year.

We choose local and Mediterranean varieties that thrive in Ibiza's climate, and design each garden around your space, your kitchen and the way you live, while preserving the natural charm of the island.

OUR PROJECTS

Kitchen Gardens We Have Created

From compact herb gardens to full food forests, every project is productive, resilient and made for the island.

Vegetable garden in Aguas Blancas

Raised beds and open soil grow seasonal crops: root vegetables, leafy greens, herbs and edible flowers. Each bed is planted with companion species that protect and nourish each other. Managed organically, with compost made on site and irrigation adapted to local conditions, it brings colour, fragrance and fresh food to the kitchen all year.

Food forest in Cala Nova

A full successional agroforestry system, with herbs, shrubs, trees and groundcovers growing in layers. Fast growers such as sunflowers, tithonia, ricinus and boldo build organic matter and prepare the soil. Over the years, papaya, leucaena, paulownia and melia add shade and biomass, helping the fruit trees establish and giving long-term abundance.

Herb garden in Santa Gertrudis

A 10 m2 plot turned into a compact, abundant herb garden for everyday use: lemon verbena (hierba luisa), several salvias, thyme, mint, oregano, lavender and rosemary, arranged for fragrance, resilience and year-round harvests. With improved soil, organic compost and efficient irrigation, it thrives on minimal inputs, right at the kitchen door.

How we build vertical gardens

After years of designing vertical gardens across Ibiza, here's how we approach it:

  1. Read the wall. Light and wind decide almost everything, so we study those first.
  2. Choose a structure. Panels, felt pockets, or a trellis - strong, well-draining, built for the spot.
  3. Use the right soil mix. Lightweight and well-draining, so it never stays soggy.
  4. Install drip irrigation. Essential in our climate to keep it thriving through summer.
  5. Match plants to conditions. Vines for structure, herbs and greens within reach, edible plants where there's light and depth.
  6. Plant with room to grow, and watch it closely. The first few months matter most.
