Respect water
Commitment #1
Water is one of Ibiza’s most limited and precious resources. At Gardens of Ibiza, we are committed to designing gardens that honour and protect it. Through smart planning and responsible techniques, we reduce water usage without compromising beauty.
We begin with permaculture principles—mimicking natural ecosystems to retain moisture in the soil, reduce evaporation, and create layered planting schemes that support each other. This approach helps us build gardens that thrive naturally, with minimal irrigation.
We also integrate modern water-saving technology, such as drip irrigation and soil moisture sensors, to make sure every drop is used wisely. These systems not only conserve water but also support healthy root systems and longer-lasting plant life.
Our use of local, drought-tolerant plants ensures gardens are adapted to Ibiza’s dry summers. These plants require less water and maintenance while still offering colour, texture, and scent throughout the seasons.
Respecting water is about long-term thinking. It’s about designing gardens that are not only beautiful but also climate-conscious and sustainable—reflecting the natural rhythms of Ibiza itself.

Respect Local architecture
Commitment #2
A garden should feel like part of its surroundings—not separate from the home, but in harmony with it. At Gardens of Ibiza, we design with deep respect for the island’s architectural heritage.
From dry-stone walls to whitewashed villas and arched doorways, Ibiza’s buildings reflect centuries of Mediterranean tradition. We integrate these elements into our gardens, using local stone, natural materials, and architectural lines to create a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors.
Dry-stone walls, for example, aren’t just decorative—they help guide water, retain soil, and define space. We use them to echo Ibiza’s historical landscape and give each garden a sense of place.
Every path, entrance, and seating area is carefully positioned to complement the home’s form and style. Whether traditional or modern, our designs aim to enhance rather than compete with the existing architecture.
By respecting the built environment, we create outdoor spaces that feel timeless, rooted, and authentic—gardens that truly belong on this island.

Respect ibiza culture
Commitment #3
Our work is deeply shaped by the culture of Ibiza—a culture that values connection, nature, and community. We honour that by sourcing local materials, working with local artisans, and supporting local permaculture projects.
Whenever possible, we use plants, soil, and stone from the island itself. We partner with small producers and craftspeople to celebrate Ibiza’s heritage and reduce environmental impact. From hand-thrown pots to native plant varieties, each detail is a reflection of the land and its people.
We’re also proud to support community initiatives that focus on sustainable food, water, and land use. By sharing knowledge and resources, we help preserve traditional practices while encouraging ecological innovation.
In our garden designs, we embrace the island’s easygoing, intentional lifestyle—spaces that invite reflection, celebration, and living close to the land. Whether it’s a shaded corner for rest or a space for gathering with loved ones, we create with cultural rhythm in mind.
To respect Ibiza’s culture is to live in tune with it—and to build gardens that are not only beautiful, but meaningful.
