Flowering period: This plant doesn’t have a flowering period (grown for rhizomes).

Soil: Rich, well-drained soil; composted, moisture-retentive but not waterlogged

Sunlight: Partial sun to bright shade

Water needs:

Moderate to high; keep evenly moist during growth

Wintergreen: Evergreen in warm climates (dies back in cold)

Permaculture: Valuable edible for warm-climate container growing; adds diversity to a food garden; leafy growth provides biomass

Plant density: Space 25–35 cm apart; 6–10 plants per m²

Plant ginger in warm conditions once nights are mild; place in bright light with protection from harsh midday sun. Use a wide container with free-draining, rich soil and plant rhizomes shallowly. Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged; misting can help in dry air. Feed lightly during active growth. Harvest young ginger after several months, or let it mature longer for stronger flavour. Protect from cold; ginger is tender and dislikes temperatures below 12–15°C.

Do you have a specific spot in your garden in mind? Let us know, and we’ll do our best to deliver directly to that location. Please note: access must be suitable for our truck, especially when delivering materials like gravel or soil. If special handling is needed, an extra charge may apply.

We take great care to ensure that every plant we deliver is healthy, strong, and in its best condition. Up until the moment of delivery, we are fully responsible for your plant. Once it arrives, however, the responsibility shifts to you.

Please understand that plants are living organisms and require the right care to thrive. Overwatering, poor soil, or unsuitable conditions can all affect the health of your plant, and these factors are outside of our control.

We do not offer a warranty, as we cannot guarantee how a plant will be treated after delivery. Buying plants always carries a small natural risk: 2% to 10% of plants may not survive, even if everything appears fine from the outside. Unfortunately, this is part of working with nature and not something we can prevent or refund.
