An edible garden is far more than a place to grow food: it is a vibrant ecosystem that brings you closer to the natural rhythms of the land. Thoughtfully designed, it becomes a space of beauty and abundance, where herbs, fruits, vegetables, and flowering plants coexist, each enhancing the health of the whole system.
At Gardens of Ibiza, we approach these vegetable gardens as small-scale landscapes, guided by the same principles we apply to our larger projects: soil regeneration, biodiversity, and naturally closed cycles. Instead of monocultures or synthetic inputs, we work with companion planting, organic matter, and natural pest management. The result is a nourishing, resilient kitchen garden that thrives season after season.

Below you get to see one of our kitchen gardens where these principles come to life, demonstrating how mixed planting, natural soil building, and thoughtful seasonal design work together to create a productive, resilient, and self-sustaining landscape.
Vegetable Garden (Aguas Blancas, Ibiza)
In Aguas Blancas, raised beds and open soil host a rotation of seasonal crops: leafy greens, root vegetables, aromatic herbs and edible flowers. Each bed is planted for diversity, with companion species that protect and nourish each other.
Managed organically, with compost from the site itself and irrigation adapted to local conditions, the garden brings colour, fragrance and fresh ingredients to the kitchen in every season.
Food Forest (Cala Nova, Ibiza)
In Cala Nova, this food forest is designed as a full successional agroforestry system, with trees, shrubs, herbs and groundcovers growing in layers. Fast-growing pioneers such as sunflowers, tithonia, ricinus and boldo build organic matter and prepare the soil.
Over the years, papaya, leucaena, paulownia and melia add shade and biomass, so the fruit trees can establish, regenerate the soil and give long-term abundance.
Aromatic & Herb Garden (Santa Gertrudis, Ibiza)
In Santa Gertrudis, we turned a 10 m² plot into a compact, abundant herb garden for everyday use. It combines hierba luisa, several salvias, thyme, mint, oregano, lavender and rosemary, arranged for fragrance, resilience and year-round harvests.
With improved soil, natural compost and efficient irrigation, it thrives on minimal inputs, supports biodiversity and offers fresh herbs right at the doorstep of the home.
Vertical Garden (Sant Carles, Ibiza)
In Sant Carles, now in the design phase for our own office, this vertical garden shows how an unused wall can become a productive living landscape. Aromatic herbs, edible plants and Mediterranean species are planned around sunlight, the seasons and efficient irrigation.
As a working garden and a showcase in one, it brings colour, fragrance and fresh ingredients to terraces, courtyards and other small spaces.
