Aromatic Garden

This aromatic garden is designed as an intimate, productive planting system where Mediterranean herbs, perennials and special crops grow together in natural layers. Within a compact 10 m² plot, the garden brings structure, scent and year-round usability, following the same principle of intentional planting shown in the plan. Fast-establishing species such as lavanda dentata, salvia leucantha and romero anchor the space early on, creating texture, fragrance and a steady flow of new growth for harvesting.

Around them, a curated selection of culinary herbs - lavender, rosemary, salvia, mint, thyme and hierba luisa - fills the mid and low layers. These plants offer both beauty and function, providing fresh herbs for daily use while forming a dense, living carpet that protects the soil. The combination of upright, mounding and groundcover forms mimics a small natural ecosystem, where every plant supports the next by attracting pollinators, retaining moisture and enriching the soil.

By combining aromatics and perennials in a thoughtful layout, the garden remains easy to maintain and continuously productive. Regular harvesting keeps the plants healthy, while seasonal cuts - carried out during our visits - ensure long-term structure and resilience. The result is a compact, lush herb garden that blends effortlessly into the finca, offering fragrance, flavour and a calm natural presence throughout the year.

explained

What is an aromatic garden?

An aromatic garden is a small, functional ecosystem where Mediterranean herbs and perennials grow together in harmony. In syntropic and permaculture practice, these plants are selected for resilience, fragrance and ecological value - lavender, rosemary, salvia, mint, thyme and hierba luisa act as pioneers, enriching the soil, attracting pollinators and creating a healthy microclimate. By combining upright, mounding and groundcover forms, the garden becomes naturally self-supporting, retaining moisture and reducing the need for maintenance.

More than a collection of herbs, an aromatic garden offers daily abundance: fresh flavours for cooking, leaves for teas and natural remedies, and a steady presence of scent through the seasons. Over time it evolves into a calm, productive corner of the landscape, beautiful, low-maintenance and deeply connected to Mediterranean nature.

Introducing

An Aromatic & Herb Garden

An aromatic garden is a compact Mediterranean ecosystem where herbs like lavender, rosemary, mint, thyme and salvia grow together to create fragrance, flavour and natural resilience. Designed the permaculture way, these plants support each other, attract pollinators and stay productive with minimal care. Simply choose your favourite aromatics and start building your own garden look.

maintenance & harvest

Aromatic basket

As the aromatic garden grows and stabilises, it develops a continuous cycle of fresh herbs and fragrant perennials throughout the year. During our maintenance visits, we take care of the pruning and harvesting, selecting healthy, seasonal aromatics directly from the different layers of the garden.

All harvested herbs are gathered with care and delivered to your home - weekly or monthly - so you can enjoy the full abundance and fragrance of your aromatic garden without any effort.

Rooted in the island

Ibiza

Ibiza’s landscape is naturally aromatic. The scent of pine, thyme, and rosemary defines its hillsides and coastlines. By working with these native and adapted species, we design gardens that echo the island’s character and withstand its dry summers.

Aromatic and herb gardens fit seamlessly into both contemporary and traditional settings, from terraces and courtyards to larger rural plots. They embody the Mediterranean way of living: close to nature, seasonal, and full of sensory richness.
