Garden designer / Co Founder

Alberto

Alberto is a nature lover and agricultural engineer, specialising in the design of sustainable gardens that honour the essence of the Mediterranean. His approach combines science with permaculture and ecology, creating green spaces that regenerate the soil, protect water, and promote biodiversity and syntropy.

At Gardens of Ibiza Green & Wild, he designs gardens that not only beautify the landscape but also evolve into living, resilient ecosystems in harmony with their surroundings.

Created Gardens

Our team of designers brings together diverse backgrounds in art, landscape architecture, and horticulture. United by a shared passion for plants, beauty, and natural balance, they create outdoor spaces that are thoughtful, timeless, and deeply connected to their surroundings. Here you can explore the gardens Alberto has created.

Siesta, Ibiza

In Siesta, the focus was on combining ornamental beauty with ecological resilience. Trees such as mimosa, fig, nispero, apricot, and lemon form the garden’s structure, offering shade, fragrance, and seasonal harvests. Among them, Alberto selected plants like ricino, eucalyptus, oleander, and wisteria , each chosen for its purpose: attracting pollinators, enriching the soil, or adding seasonal colour. The result is a planting composition that feels lush and alive, yet remains sustainable in Ibiza’s dry climate.

San Matheu, Ibiza

For San Mateu, Alberto designed a rural planting scheme that reflects Ibiza’s agricultural heritage. Hardy native trees such as carob, olive, and almond anchor the landscape, while aromatic herbs and seasonal vegetables enrich the soil. Cover crops and flowering species provide habitats for pollinators and protect the land from erosion. San Mateu embodies Alberto’s belief that gardens should not only look beautiful, but also regenerate the soil and support the wider ecosystem.

Cala Nova, Ibiza

Cala Nova is home to a young food forest designed by Alberto, with permaculture as its guiding principle. Layers of fruit trees, shrubs, and climbers form a self-sustaining system that provides abundance with minimal intervention. Citrus, fig, and apricot trees create the canopy, while vines and herbs improve soil health and attract pollinators. Although still in its establishment phase, this design will grow into a resilient ecosystem that nourishes both people and soil, a living expression of long-term regeneration.

my passion

Permaculture

Alberto’s journey began at Valencia University, where he first discovered permaculture, not merely as a design method, but as a philosophy of life.

Permaculture is about observing natural systems and learning from them: how forests regenerate, how plants support each other, how soil builds fertility over time.

For Alberto, these lessons became the foundation of both his work and his daily life. Moving to Ibiza gave him the opportunity to put theory into practice, shaping gardens that are both resilient and abundant. His background in sustainable agriculture continues to guide every planting decision, ensuring that each garden matures as a living ecosystem.

my mission

Sharing knowlegde

Permaculture is not only something Alberto practises, it’s something he feels compelled to share. He believes clients should understand why certain plants are chosen and how ecosystems function, because knowledge is as valuable as design itself.

In every project, he explains the principles behind his work, from soil regeneration to biodiversity, empowering clients to care for their gardens as living systems, not merely decorative spaces.

For Alberto, this exchange of knowledge is essential. It transforms a garden into an ongoing collaboration between nature, designer, and owner, all working together toward a greener future.

my craft

Planting with purpose

For Alberto, plants are never chosen simply for decoration. Each species plays a role: improving soil health, attracting pollinators, producing food, providing shade, or preventing erosion.

This approach mirrors the layered structure of a natural forest, trees, shrubs, vines, herbs, and groundcovers all working together. In his planting schemes, Alberto combines beauty with function, creating gardens that not only look vibrant but also regenerate the land.

By designing in this way, he ensures that every landscape he shapes thrives long-term, with less dependence on external resources and greater resilience to Ibiza’s dry climate.
